On July 26, 19 years back, The Indian Army assumed control over all the Indian Posts in Kargil that was caught by Pakistan’s armed force. The war started in May 1999 and came to an end in July 1999 with Indian emerging as the winner while Pakistani trespassers were tossed out. In the first seven days of May 1999, Indian Army got data about the infiltrators crossing the fringe and coming to Kargil and involving it. At first, it was felt that they were ‘Mujahideen’, yet soon it went under notice that it was Pakistani Army that caught a portion of the posts including ‘Tiger Hill’. The catch of Tiger Hill heated up the blood of Indian Army and they initiated “Mission Vijay”. The infiltrators, even before the war, positioned themselves in key areas to get afavourable position before the beginning of the war, however, The Indian Army was no less! They Positioned 5 autonomous detachments, 5 infantry divisions, and 44 brigades of paramilitary troops in Kashmir. In the end, The Indian Air Force (IAF) was likewise called forward and 60 Frontline flying machines were sent. In any case, the IAF didn’t go too far of control and assaulted from inside the LOC.
