“With freedom in our mind, faith in words and pride in our Soul – We salute our Nation on its 72nd Independence Day”

The campus of Woodland Overseas School resounded with the patriotic beats on Tuesday, 14th August, 2018. No stone was left unturned by the joyous Woodlanders from G-6 to G-12 to add essence to the celebration of Independence Day. The function commemorated with the unfurling of the flag by the Chief Guest who were our gracious Chairperson Mrs. Tirlochan Kaur, effervescent Dean Dr. Simerjeet Kaur along with our winsome Principal Mr. S.R.Sharma and adept Consultant of the school, Mr. Rakesh Katyal.

Function went rolling with impeccable flamboyant patriotic qwalli giving homage to our nation by energetic Woodlanders. Woodlanders marked this day as a new beginning by shunning away from all kinds of negative emotions and inculcate the feeling of brotherhood. A mime depicting freedom from selfie addition also portrayed the obsession from which we need to break away now. The show stopper of the day was a heart rendering dance performance dedicated to a little Indian girl Asifa.

The patriotic fervor reached its culmination with the address of our exemplary Principal Mr. S.R. Sharma highlighting the greatness of our country and never to forget the values for which we are known. He remarked, “We ought to take the decision to value our nation and not to forget those sacrifices, which gave us freedom. Now it’s our turn to make a reformation.” Celebration was wrapped up by singing pride of our nation – National Anthem.
