On Friday, 23rd August 2019, the school premises of Woodland blossomed with the budding Woodlanders when Pre-K to G-1 students gathered in ecstasy of Janamashtami Jubilation.
A splendidly colourful program was organized with tastefully decorated school campus which included a beautifully decorated backdrop, flutes, peacock feathers and matkas enhancing the spirit of festivity. The function kicked off with a short talk about the origin and importance of the festival.
To pay their obeisance to Lord Krishana, the young girls were traditionally decked up as Radha and the boys as Sri Krishana and won the soul of the spectators.
Signifying the excitement, euphoria and joyous spirit of enthrallment, K-I Woodlanders danced to the tunes of devotional songs with mirth and enthusiasm. Their laudable performance dazzled up the stage and mesmerized the audience.
Our Principal Ms. Puja Dhiman blessed the students and gave them the message to always look ahead instead of reminiscing in the past.
Our illustrious Dean Dr. Simerjeet Kaur who along with her blessings guided the students to embrace Lord Krishna’s virtues. “To be brave, yet kind to be sharp, yet loving”. She also told
“Janamashtami indicates the beginning of hope………..A hope that the malicious rule will end soon”.
The day later progressed to main attraction of the day which was ‘Breaking of Matki’
Children were overjoyed when it was broken adding to the charm and grace of the day.
A lot of fun filled activities like selfie corner, flamboyant photo shoot, floral decorated swings and dance on the musical notes gave an absolutely exhilarating time to all the young Govindas of Woodland and hence commemorating the incarnation of Lord Krishna on this pious day. Let there be love, light, happiness and laughter in our lives with Krishna’s blessings.
