Documents checklist during Admission:
- Three recent Passport Size Color Photographs of the Student.
- One individual recent Passport size Color Photograph of Mother and Father each.
- Original and Attested Photocopy of Date of Birth of the Student. The original DOB shall be returned after verification.
- Transfer Certificate from the previous school attended.
- Detailed Marks of the latest examination attended from the last School attended.
Q1. In which month does the academic year begin at WOS?
A. The academic year begins in April for CBSE affiliated schools in India. It is advisable to lookup on the school website for the start month or call up the Reception Desk.
Q2. What are the minimum age criteria for admission into Kindergarten?
A. Minimum age for admitting a child in Pre School is 2.5 years complete. So when a child completes the 2.5 years age during anytime of the year, he/she can start attending the Pre School classes. Minimum age is 3 years complete for Pre K, 4 years complete for K1 and 5 years complete for K2, on the first day of academic years.
Q3. What are the minimum age criteria for admission into Grade 1?
A. On the first day of the academic year, your child should have completed six years for admission into Grade 1.
Q4. Is there any admission test or what are the admission criteria?
A. Admissions are granted on 2 key factors collectively, one is compliance to the minimum age criteria and second, the child performance is gauged by an aptitude gauging Questionnaire for the desired class.
Q5. Can my child seek admission during middle of the academic session?
A. WOS does allow mid-year admissions to all children who are relocating with their parents. This is subject to the availability of seats in that particular class.
Q6. If I am relocating from one country to another, which class would my child be admitted at WOS?
A. If your child comes from any other international school mid-session, generally the child continues in the same standard or grade in which he/she was studying at the other international school. If your child has completed a particular standard/grade at the international school, then the child would join in the next grade
Q7. If I am relocating within India, which class would my child be admitted to?
A. In India, admissions sought during the middle of academic session are granted to the same standard in which the child was studying in the previous school.
Q8. When my child is relocating to your CBSE school, would there be any difficulties he/she may face due to change in school?
A. Your child would be able to smoothly integrate at WOS and will be at home within the first week of his/her start at GIIS. Curriculum wise and textbook wise, there will be minimal inconvenience to your child.
Q9. What are the school term periods and when are the school holidays?
A. There are three terms in a year and school holidays are worked on the basis of national holidays and school breaks. To view a specific term periods and holidays, please visit the WOS school website.
Q10. Does WOS provide school bus transport for students?
A. Yes, WOS do provide school bus transport services either directly or through the appointed bus transport services.
Q11. What facilities are available in the school buses?
A. Every Bus is equipped with a Helper, First Aid Box, Drinking water facility, Mobile Phone and a Route Chart.
Q12. Does WOS has school uniform and can I purchase the school uniforms from the school?
A. WOS has standard uniforms for weekdays, sports days (ECA) and for Houses. The uniform can be purchased anytime through the year from the dedicated outlet approved by the school to bring in homogeneity in dress.
Q13. Where can I purchase the school books from?
A. WOS has a book shop in the school premises, from where you can purchase the text books, as well as note books.
